Ultherapy
in Brisbane

About Dr Asadi
Ultherapy works at a depth the eye cannot see, in the support layer your face actually moves on. The point of using a device that shows me that layer in real time is simple: the energy goes where it is meant to go. Choosing the right patient matters as much as the device.

Our approach to Ultherapy is guided by your anatomy, and we are careful about who it suits. We look at how loose the skin is and where, your facial structure, your skin quality, and your medical history. We also weigh up whether Ultherapy is truly the right tool for the result you want. If another treatment or a referral for surgery would serve you better, we will say so.

Clinical Indications

Commonly
Assessed

At your consultation in Brisbane, we assess your skin and the structure beneath it to see whether Ultherapy can address your concerns.

Most Commonly Assessed

Submental & Lower Face
Under the Chin & Along the Jawline

Lifting loose skin under the chin and across the lower face and jawline is the area people ask about most. The skin under the chin, often called the submental area, links the lower face to the upper neck. Softening here is one of the first signs of ageing many people notice. Ultherapy treats the support layer, known as the SMAS, and the deep skin across this area. The depth of the energy is matched to each region.

Neck
Lax Tissue Lifting

Ultherapy is used to lift loose skin on the neck. This includes the side of the neck and the vertical cords that can appear at the front, called the platysmal bands. It best suits adults with mild to moderate loose skin in this area.

Brow
Lifting the Eyebrow

A gentle lift of the eyebrow, with no surgery and no break in the skin. It suits mild heaviness of the brow.

Decolletage
Lines & Wrinkles

Ultherapy is used to soften lines and wrinkles on the decolletage, the upper chest. Over the years, sun, movement, and the way we sleep can leave fine creping and wrinkles here. The energy is delivered at depths that suit the thinner skin of the chest, where it supports new collagen.

Collagen Support
Across the SMAS & Dermis

Every approved use of Ultherapy works the same way. It places tiny warm spots at set depths of 1.5 mm, 3.0 mm, and 4.5 mm, in the deep skin and the support layer (SMAS). Each spot reaches about 60 to 70 degrees Celsius. That gentle heat switches on the body's natural healing response. Over the following weeks and months, your skin makes fresh collagen and slowly firms. The surface of the skin is left intact. That is why downtime is short and why the result builds over time rather than appearing straight away.

Real-Time
Visualisation (MFU-V)

Ultherapy shows the layers being treated on an ultrasound screen as it works. The clinician can see them and make sure each pulse is delivered to the right depth.

Treatment Journey

Sessions, Preparation
& Recovery

Ultherapy is usually one session per area. The result builds over the months that follow as your collagen response gets to work. The notes below are a general guide. Your clinician will tailor the timing, the preparation, and the aftercare to your concern, your medical history, the medicines you take, and the goals you raise at consultation.

Clinical Philosophy
The most honest thing a treatment can do is meet your skin where it is. Ultherapy works in the layer your face actually moves on. My quiet job at the consultation is to read whether your anatomy and your stage of life truly suit that. When they do, I will tell you. When they do not, I will tell you that too.

Options

Combinations

Other Treatments
We May Discuss

For our Brisbane patients, Ultherapy often sits within a wider plan. Depending on your assessment, your clinician may discuss one or more of the treatments below, either alongside your Ultherapy session or in sequence with it. Whether any combination suits you is decided at a full consultation at our Newstead rooms.

The treatments listed here are examples of what may be considered. They are not a treatment plan and do not mean you will need all of them. Your recommendation may include one option, a combination, or a different approach altogether after your skin has been properly assessed at our Brisbane clinic.

Skin Quality & Tissue Remodelling

Morpheus 8 RF Microneedling

A radiofrequency microneedling treatment that works on the skin at depths that complement Ultherapy. Where Ultherapy works on the deeper support layer, this works in the dermis, the lower layer of the skin. It can help skin quality, the look of pores, and skin texture. It is delivered by our experienced team under Dr Asadi's supervision, and discussed where it suits your concerns.

Forma

A gentle radiofrequency treatment that warms the lower layer of the skin to help it firm. There is no break in the skin and most people find it comfortable. It is usually done as a course, and may sit alongside Ultherapy as part of a longer plan. It is delivered by our experienced team under Dr Asadi's supervision.

Structural Support

Aptos Threads

Absorbable threads placed by Dr Asadi, who is an accredited Aptos Threads Official Trainer. Threads add a lift to the structure that Ultherapy on its own does not give. In suitable patients, they are sometimes used together with Ultherapy, with the order and timing planned for you. Threads are a medical procedure with their own risks, which we discuss at consultation.

Hydration & Skin Quality

Skin Boosters

Hydrating treatments that support skin quality, texture, and moisture at the surface. In suitable patients, they are often discussed to pair surface hydration with the deeper collagen response from Ultherapy. They are provided by a doctor or registered nurse.

Light & Healing Support

Healite II LED

A gentle light therapy that can calm redness and support healing after a treatment. It is often discussed alongside Ultherapy to keep you comfortable in the days after your session and to support the collagen response over the following weeks. It is delivered by our experienced team under Dr Asadi's supervision.

Personalised Plan & Skincare

Personalised Treatment Plan

After your consultation, we will prepare a personalised treatment plan based on your medical history, assessment, skin condition, and treatment goals. Your plan clearly explains the treatment options that may be appropriate for you, the recommended sequence of care where needed, expected costs, and realistic timeframes. We will also answer your questions and explain the reasons behind our recommendations, so you have a clear understanding of your options before deciding how you would like to proceed.

Personalised Skincare

Following your VISIA skin analysis and clinical assessment, Dr Fatemeh Asadi or one of our experienced clinicians will recommend a personalised skincare plan based on your skin's individual needs. Your skincare routine is selected to support your treatment plan and may be adjusted over time as your skin changes or your goals evolve.

All cosmetic procedures carry some risk and possible side effects. Whether a treatment suits you, what might rule it out, and the full range of possible complications are all discussed at your consultation. Individual results vary. No outcome can be guaranteed. Read about Risks & Complications →

Questions

Frequently
Asked

Ultherapy is used to lift the eyebrow, to lift loose skin under the chin, across the lower face and jawline, to lift loose skin on the neck, and to soften lines and wrinkles on the decolletage. It usually suits adults with mild to moderate loose skin in these areas. It is not right for everyone. People with very loose skin, those wanting a surgical-grade result, or those with implants, severe acne, or open wounds in the area may not be suitable. We decide whether it suits you at a full consultation, not online.

Ultherapy does not break the skin surface, so most people get back to normal the same day, with very little downtime. Mild redness, slight tenderness, some swelling, and a feeling of tightness in the area are all normal. These usually settle over a few hours to a few days. Less often, small areas of bruising or numbness can occur. Everyone is a little different.

Yes. Tell us about all your current medicines at consultation, especially blood thinners (aspirin, fish oil, ibuprofen), which can make bruising more likely. Please also mention any recent skin treatments in the area, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and any implants or open wounds nearby. We can then adjust the plan or move the date if needed. Come with clean skin, free of makeup and skincare on the area we are treating.

Most people feel a series of warm sensations and tingles as the ultrasound reaches the deeper layers of skin. That feeling is a sign the collagen-supporting energy is going in at the right depth. Comfort varies from person to person and area to area. Your clinician adjusts the energy within the approved range, guided by your feedback through the session.

A numbing cream is not strictly needed for Ultherapy, but we often offer it for extra comfort. If you tend to find treatments painful, or feel anxious about them, we can also talk about pain relief you take by mouth. We decide the comfort plan with you and adjust it as needed.

Aftercare is simple, because Ultherapy does not break the skin surface. Cleanse gently, use a fragrance-free moisturiser, and wear a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day. Hold off on hard exercise, hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms for 24 hours. We usually review you at two to three months, when we can see how your collagen response is coming along, since the result builds slowly over that time.

All ultrasound treatments carry some risk. These can include short-lived redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising, numbness, and a result you are not happy with. Less often, you may notice a temporary change in skin sensation, or, very rarely, a short-lived effect on a nerve in the treated area. Your own risks depend on your anatomy, the area being treated, and your medical history. We talk through them in full at consultation, and again on the day. You can read more on our Risks & Complications page.
