Your trust matters to us. When you choose Body Dezign House, our doctor-led clinic in Newstead, Brisbane, you share personal and health information with us so we can care for you well. This page explains, in plain terms, what we collect, why we collect it, how we keep it safe, and the choices you have along the way. If anything here is unclear, please ask. We are always happy to talk it through.
Collection
We collect information that is necessary and relevant to provide you with cosmetic medical care at our Newstead, Brisbane clinic and to manage our practice. This may include your name, date of birth, address, contact details, health information, medical history, and payment details.
Wherever practicable we collect information directly from you: in person, by phone, by email, or through our website. We may also collect information from other health practitioners involved in your care, where you have consented to this.
Use and Disclosure
We treat your personal information as strictly private and confidential. We use and disclose it only for purposes directly related to your care and treatment, or in ways you would reasonably expect.
We may be required by law to disclose information to third parties, for example to AHPRA, the TGA, a court, or a regulatory authority. We may also share information with other health practitioners involved in your ongoing care, and with trusted service providers (such as IT and practice management software providers) who are bound by strict confidentiality obligations.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes.
Health Information
Your health information is the most sensitive information we hold, and we treat it with the greatest care. Under the Privacy Act it is classed as sensitive information and given the highest level of protection. We collect your health and clinical records, including medical history, treatment notes, and clinical photography, only with your consent and only to the extent necessary to provide your care.
Clinical photographs form part of your medical record and are stored securely at our Newstead, Brisbane practice. Separate written consent is required before any image is used for marketing or educational purposes.
Marketing and Communications
From time to time we may contact you with appointment reminders, follow-up care, and information about our services, offers, or events. We send marketing messages only where you would reasonably expect it or where you have agreed to receive them.
You can opt out at any time. Every marketing email and SMS includes a simple unsubscribe option, or you can contact us directly and we will remove you from our marketing lists. Opting out of marketing will never affect the care you receive.
We do not use your sensitive health information for marketing without your express consent.
Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. These measures include secure password-protected systems, restricted staff access, physical security of clinical records held at our Newstead, Brisbane clinic, and encrypted data transmission on our website.
No internet transmission is completely secure. Information you submit to us electronically is at your own risk during transit.
When information is no longer required and no legal retention obligation exists, we destroy or permanently de-identify it.
In the unlikely event of a data breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will act quickly to contain it, and we will notify the affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Our Website
When you use our website, our enquiry form collects the details you choose to give us, typically your name, email, phone number, and message, so we can respond to you. Like most websites, ours uses cookies and similar tools to help pages work properly and to understand, in general terms, how visitors use the site.
Our site also draws on a small number of third-party services, such as embedded maps and web fonts, which may set their own cookies. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as smoothly if you do.

If you believe any information we hold is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, please contact us and we will correct it promptly. There is no charge for access requests, though reasonable administrative costs may apply where extensive copying is required.
Overseas Disclosure
We do not routinely send your personal information overseas. However, some of the trusted software services we rely on to run the practice, for example email, secure file storage, website hosting, and online forms, store or process data on servers located outside Australia, most commonly in the United States.
Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure those providers handle your information securely and in a way consistent with Australian privacy standards. We will not otherwise disclose your information to an overseas recipient without your consent, unless we are required to do so by law.
