Personalised Skin Treatment

The Signature FacialNewstead, Brisbane

A signature facial is a skin treatment we build around you, not a routine off the shelf. We start by reading your skin properly with VISIA imaging, then choose the products, the steps, and the depth based on what your skin actually needs that day. The treatment runs for 60 to 90 minutes through cleanse, exfoliation, extraction where appropriate, massage, and a customised mask, and finishes with a Healite II LED treatment. Body Dezign House is a doctor-led clinic in Newstead, Brisbane, where every signature facial is guided by your anatomy, takes in your full skin picture, and carries no obligation to go ahead.

Understanding the Signature Facial

The Signature Facial
in Brisbane

About Dr Asadi
A facial that works for every skin is a facial that does not really work for yours. The product choices, the steps, and the depth are all decided by what we see in your VISIA reading at the start. Skip that step, and what you get is a generic treatment with a polite finish. Do it properly, and the facial actually does something the home routine cannot.

Dr Fatemeh Asadi, MD, FRACGP brings two decades in cosmetic medicine and general practice to every consultation. She is a Key Opinion Leader for Merz Aesthetics and an Official Trainer for Aptos Threads. This reflects her ongoing role in cosmetic medicine education, including attending national and international conferences, training other doctors and nurses, and contributing her clinical knowledge to the wider medical aesthetics community.

Our approach is careful and honest. We look at what is really driving your skin concern. It might be barrier damage, congestion, pigment, surface inflammation, or a mix of these. We also look at whether a facial is genuinely right for you, including when the skin needs to settle first. If a peel course, a microneedling sequence, or a laser session would serve you better, we will say so plainly.

Treatment Steps

The Facial
Step by Step

A signature facial does a handful of useful things for the skin. The exact mix changes depending on what your VISIA reading shows. Knowing which steps to include, which to skip, and when something else would serve your skin better, is decided at the consultation. It is one of the skin treatments we offer at our Brisbane clinic.

The VISIA
Reading First

Every signature facial starts with a VISIA scan. The imaging shows us what the unaided eye cannot: the depth of pigment, the level of sub-surface inflammation, the pattern of sun damage layered across years, the porphyrin signal of follicular activity, and the texture grade. From that reading, the clinician chooses the products, the depth of exfoliation, and the mask that suit your skin today, not the products and depth we used on the patient before you. You see exactly the same scan we do, on the same screen, which makes it easier to agree on what we are doing and why.

Cleanse
& Decongestion

A proper double cleanse to remove makeup, sunscreen, surface oil, and the day's accumulated grime, followed by a warm steam to soften the skin and open the follicles. Where extraction of blackheads or stubborn comedones is appropriate, it happens here, gently and only where the clinician judges it useful. The aim is to get the surface clean enough that everything that comes after it can actually reach the skin.

Gentle
Exfoliation

An enzyme or low-strength AHA or BHA pass to lift the dull top layer. The acid family is matched to your skin: gentler on reactive types, slightly deeper on dull or sun-damaged ones. Always controlled.

Hydration
& Massage

A facial massage focused on lymphatic drainage and skin circulation, paired with a hydration-focused serum layer. The massage relaxes facial tension that holds in fine lines and helps the skin's own circulation move. It is the part of the treatment most patients say they can still feel the next morning, before they notice any visible change.

The Healite II
LED Finish

Every signature facial finishes with a Healite II LED treatment. The near-infrared and yellow wavelengths calm the inflammation that any cleanse, extraction, or exfoliation has created, support the skin barrier as it settles, and lift the result of the steps that came before it. The light is non-thermal, which is why it suits even sensitive skin. Patients walk out with skin that looks more even, more settled, and brighter than it would from a facial that stopped at the mask step. Healite II also makes the signature facial pair naturally into a longer treatment plan with Laser Genesis, microneedling, or a peel course on a different day.

When Something
Else Suits Better

Active acne flares, broken skin, recent isotretinoin, or pigmentation patterns better addressed by a peel course or a laser. We will say so honestly and recommend the right treatment instead.

Clinical Philosophy
Moisturiser that used to absorb now sits on the surface instead. Underneath: a slowing of the skin's own renewal cycle, surface dehydration that creams alone cannot reach, and a barrier that has lost a little of its tolerance. A good consultation reads each separately, and is honest about which parts a facial can address and which need a different treatment.

Treatments We
May Discuss

A signature facial is built in stages, with each step chosen for what your VISIA reading actually showed. The product brands change, the depth of exfoliation changes, the mask changes, but the structure stays the same. Whether this fits you, and how it slots into a wider treatment plan, is decided at the consultation in Brisbane.

The Signature Facial Sequence

VISIA Imaging & Skin Reading

The first step on every signature facial. VISIA photographs your face in calibrated light and shows the depth of pigment, the porphyrin signal of follicular activity, sub-surface inflammation, sun damage layered across years, and the texture grade. The clinician walks you through the scan on the same screen, then chooses the products and the steps that suit your skin today. The reading takes about ten minutes and sets up everything that follows.

Double Cleanse & Steam

A first cleanse with an oil-based or balm cleanser to dissolve makeup, sunscreen, and surface oil, followed by a water-based cleanse to clear the skin properly. A warm steam softens the skin and opens the follicles before any extraction or exfoliation. The choice of cleanser is matched to your skin type: gentler on reactive skin, slightly more active on oily or congested skin.

Exfoliation (Enzyme, AHA or BHA)

An enzyme exfoliation for sensitive skin, a low-strength AHA for dullness and uneven tone, or a salicylic-acid pass for congested or oily skin. The acid family, strength, and contact time are matched to what the VISIA scan showed. The aim is even surface renewal, not aggression. A signature facial does not include a medium-depth peel; if your skin needs that, we recommend a separate skin-peel appointment.

Extractions Where Appropriate

Gentle, considered extraction of blackheads or stubborn comedones where the clinician judges it useful, usually around the nose, the chin, or the forehead. Extractions are skipped entirely on sensitive, reactive, or actively inflamed skin. The aim is to clear what will release cleanly without forcing what is not ready.

Hydration Serum & Facial Massage

A hydration-focused serum layer applied with a facial massage that focuses on lymphatic drainage and skin circulation. The massage relaxes tension that holds in fine lines, supports the skin's own circulation, and helps the serum reach where it needs to go. It is the part of the treatment most patients can still feel the next morning.

Customised Treatment Mask

The mask is chosen based on what your reading showed. A hydration mask for dehydrated, dull skin. A clay or charcoal mask for oily, congested skin. A brightening mask for uneven tone. A calming, barrier-rebuild mask for reactive or post-procedure skin. The product line we use is medical-grade or cosmeceutical, with active ingredients matched to the concern.

Healite II LED Finish

Every signature facial finishes with a Healite II LED treatment. The near-infrared and yellow light calm the inflammation that any cleanse, exfoliation, or extraction creates, support the skin barrier as it settles, and lift the result of the steps that came before it. The light is non-thermal, which is why it suits even sensitive skin. The session is comfortable, restful, and runs for about ten to fifteen minutes at the end of the facial.

Customisations & Add-Ons

Brightening & Vitamin C Booster

A vitamin C and antioxidant serum layer added during the mask step, for skin that is dull, sun-damaged, or carrying superficial pigmentation. Useful as a pre-event booster and as the visible-glow add-on for patients prepping for a wedding, photo shoot, or important occasion.

Calming & Barrier-Rebuild Add-On

A ceramide and niacinamide focus throughout the facial for reactive skin, recently treated skin, or skin that is flaring after over-active home skincare. The exfoliation step is skipped, the mask is calming, and the Healite II finish does more of the work. Suits rosacea patients on a settled phase and post-procedure recovery weeks.

Add-On Healite II LED Sessions

A second or third Healite II LED session booked on its own in the week following a signature facial, useful when the skin is healing from an unrelated procedure, prepping for an event, or settling after a flare. Each LED session runs for about ten to fifteen minutes with no downtime.

Pairing with Other Treatments

Signature Facial as Maintenance Between Peels

The most common pairing. A peel course settles deeper concerns (sun damage, pigmentation, texture); a signature facial every four to six weeks between peel sessions keeps the surface clean, hydrated, and primed. The facial does not run on the same day as a peel because the chemistry overlaps, but the two sit together easily across the year.

Signature Facial Before a Microneedling or Morpheus 8 Course

A signature facial in the one to two weeks before a planned microneedling or Morpheus 8 treatment leaves the skin cleaner, more hydrated, and more tolerant. Patients consistently report a smoother experience on the device day when the facial has been done first, and recovery tends to be cleaner.

Signature Facial as Pre-Event Skin Prep

Booked four to seven days before a wedding, photo shoot, milestone birthday, or other event, the signature facial leaves the skin clean, hydrated, and at its best for the camera and the mirror. Booking it too close to the event (in the 48 hours before) is not recommended because of the pink-and-warm settling window after extractions and exfoliation.

All cosmetic procedures carry some risk and possible side effects. Whether a treatment suits you, what might rule it out, and the full range of possible complications are all discussed at your consultation. Individual results vary, and no outcome can be guaranteed. Questions

Frequently
Asked

A signature facial is a treatment built for your skin, not a fixed sequence run on every patient. The difference starts at the assessment. We use VISIA imaging to look at what your skin is actually doing under the surface, the depth of pigment, the level of sub-surface inflammation, the pattern of sun damage, the porphyrin signal of follicular activity, and the texture grade. From that reading we choose the products, the depth of exfoliation, the mask, and any add-ons. The 60 to 90 minute treatment runs through cleanse, exfoliation, extraction where appropriate, massage, mask, and a Healite II LED finish. The same patient gets a slightly different facial each visit, because the skin changes between visits.

The treatment itself runs for about 60 to 90 minutes, depending on which add-ons you choose. Plan for slightly longer at your first visit so we can do the VISIA scan and walk through your skin picture with you before we start. You can return to your day straight afterwards, with most patients comfortable in makeup the next morning.

Most people notice their skin looks clearer, brighter, and more hydrated straight after a signature facial, and that fresh look usually settles in over the following day or two. A single facial is a reset rather than a fix for deeper concerns. For pigmentation, texture, congestion, or visible redness, the lasting change comes from a planned course, often a peel programme or microneedling, with the facial used as maintenance in between. We are honest at your consultation about what one session can and cannot do. Individual results vary.

For most patients, every four to six weeks holds the result well. Skin renews on roughly a four-week cycle and a facial timed to that cycle keeps it clean, hydrated, and primed for whatever else is in your plan. Active acne, congestion, or pre-event preparation sometimes calls for more frequent visits to start with, easing back as the skin settles. The right cadence for your skin is decided at consultation. Individual results vary.

Yes, and the combinations are where it does its best work. The signature facial sits naturally as the maintenance step between peel courses, as the skin-prep step before a course of microneedling or Morpheus 8 (a well-prepared skin tolerates those treatments better), and as pre-event skin preparation when the timing is right. We do not run a peel and a facial in the same session because the chemistry overlaps, but they sit together easily across a treatment plan. The exact sequence is mapped at consultation.

Almost none. The skin can look pink and feel warm for a few hours after the Healite II finish, and pores can look slightly more visible immediately after the cleanse and extraction step. Most patients return to work the same day and wear makeup the next morning. Sun protection matters more than usual for the first 24 to 48 hours.

Yes, in most cases. A sensitive or reactive skin simply gets a gentler version of the facial. We skip the exfoliation step, choose a calming, barrier-rebuilding mask, and let the Healite II LED finish do more of the work. The VISIA reading at the start tells us how much your skin can comfortably take that day, so nothing is pushed further than it should be. If your skin is mid-flare or the barrier is quite upset, we may suggest settling it first and booking the facial for once it has calmed down.
