Rejuran Polynucleotide Skin TreatmentNewstead, Brisbane
Body Dezign House is a doctor-led clinic in Newstead, Brisbane. Rejuran is a skin treatment made from purified fragments of salmon DNA. These tiny fragments are called polynucleotides. They are placed into the upper dermis, the living layer of skin just below the surface, to support repair and collagen from within. It is usually given as a course of small injections, with different formulas for overall skin quality, acne scarring, the delicate skin around the eyes, and skin hydration. At Body Dezign House in Newstead, Brisbane, every Rejuran consultation is guided by your anatomy, looks at your skin type and barrier strength, and carries no obligation to go ahead.
Rejuran is not a quick fix, and it is not a single answer. The polynucleotides do real work in the dermis when the skin is ready for them, and less when it is not. The best results come with daily sun protection, a sensible skincare routine, and patience across a course rather than one visit. Used in the right way, Rejuran sits well with other treatments and earns its place in a longer skin plan.Dr Fatemeh Asadi, MD, FRACGP

Our approach is careful and honest. We look at what is really driving your concern. It might be sun damage, collagen that has thinned with age, skin that holds less moisture than it used to, the texture left by scarring, or a mix of these. We also look at whether any treatment is genuinely right for you.
Concerns Rejuran
May Address
Rejuran is not the answer for every skin concern. It works best on skin quality, skin renewal, hydration, and certain types of scarring. Working out whether Rejuran is the right step, and which formula suits your skin, starts with looking closely at what your skin is actually showing.
Skin Rejuvenation
& Quality
The most common reason patients ask about Rejuran is skin that has slowly lost its quality: skin that feels less resilient, looks duller, and no longer responds to skincare the way it once did. Rejuran Healer works down in the dermis, where that change is actually happening. Across a course of treatments, it supports your fibroblasts and helps renew the collagen that gives skin its structure. It is usually part of a longer skin plan rather than a one-off session.
Fine Lines
& Early Skin Ageing
Fine lines that show even when your face is still, especially on the forehead, around the eyes, and around the mouth, often point to early changes in the skin itself rather than movement alone. A course of Rejuran is often part of the conversation here, particularly when stronger resurfacing treatments would be too harsh for the skin around them.
Under-Eye
& Eye Area
The under-eye area is one of the most common reasons patients ask about Rejuran. Rejuran I, also called Rejuran Eye, is a gentler formula made for this area. It is often discussed for crepey texture, fine lines, and tired-looking skin around the eyes.
Acne Scarring
& Texture
Acne scars that leave small dips in the skin, and an uneven, rolling texture, often respond well to a course of Rejuran S. This is the stronger Rejuran formula, made for scarring. It is often paired with skin needling or other resurfacing treatments. Whether it suits you, and the plan itself, are decided at your consultation.
Dehydration
& Crepey Skin
Skin that looks dehydrated and crepey often comes from a problem deeper in the skin, not just on the surface. Polynucleotides hold onto water within the skin, so Rejuran Healer is sometimes part of the conversation when dehydration sits alongside the wider skin-quality picture. Whether this is the right approach for your skin, and which treatment or mix fits best, is decided at your consultation.
Neck &
Décolletage
Rejuran is also used on the neck, décolletage, and hands. The skin here is thinner, makes less of its own oil, and shows years of sun earlier than the face does. Brisbane sun brings it on sooner. A course tailored to these areas is discussed at your consultation.
Skin can look tired and less resilient long before any single line has a name. The reasons usually sit below the surface, in a few places at once: thinner collagen, cells that signal less than they used to, and skin that holds less moisture. In a good consultation I look at each of these on its own, and I am honest about what polynucleotides can help with and what they cannot.Dr Fatemeh Asadi MD, FRACGP · GP & Cosmetic Physician

Treatments We
May Discuss
The treatments listed here are examples of what may be considered. They are not a treatment plan and do not mean you will need all of them. Your recommendation may include one option, a combination, or a different approach altogether after your skin has been properly assessed at our Brisbane clinic.
Rejuran Healer (Original)
The main Rejuran formula, sometimes called Rejuran Original. It is used for overall skin quality, fine lines, mild looseness, and the slow drop in skin quality that often starts in your thirties and forties. The polynucleotides are placed into the upper dermis at many small points with a very fine needle. There, they support your fibroblasts and help renew the collagen that holds the skin together. It is usually given as a course of three to four sessions, three to four weeks apart, with a top-up once or twice a year after that. It is often used on the face, with nearby areas added if you need them.
Rejuran S
A thicker Rejuran formula made for acne scars that leave small dips, and for deeper, uneven texture. It holds the same strength as Healer, but stays in place within the scar for longer, so it can keep working there. It is placed into and around the scars, where the polynucleotides help rebuild the skin and support collagen at that level. It is often used alongside skin needling or other resurfacing treatments for scar work. How many sessions you need, and whether it suits you, are decided at your consultation.
Rejuran I (Rejuran Eye)
A gentler, lighter Rejuran formula made for the delicate skin around the eyes. Rejuran I is most often discussed for crepey under-eye skin, fine lines, and the tired look that can build up there from years of sun and ageing. The way it is placed, the depth, and the number of sessions are matched to your own anatomy, usually three to four sessions, three to four weeks apart. Whether it suits you is decided at your consultation.
Polynucleotide Vials with Skin Needling
Polynucleotide vials applied with medical-grade microneedling. The tiny channels made during microneedling let the active ingredients reach the upper layers of the skin. This is often discussed when you would rather not have injections, when a larger area needs treating with a repairing serum, or alongside injected Rejuran for combination skin work. It is usually given as a course of sessions, one to two weeks apart.
Healite II
Gentle light therapy often used as a supportive step after Rejuran injections, skin needling, and other repair-based treatments. It is included to help recovery, support the skin barrier, and calm any redness or sensitivity in the hours after treatment.
All cosmetic procedures carry some risk and possible side effects. Whether a treatment suits you, what might rule it out, and the full range of possible complications are all discussed at your consultation. Individual results vary, and no outcome can be guaranteed. Frequently
Asked
Rejuran is a skin treatment made from purified fragments of salmon DNA. These fragments, called polynucleotides, are placed into the upper dermis, the living layer below the surface. There they prompt your fibroblasts to make more collagen and help the skin repair and renew itself. Unlike skincare you put on top, Rejuran reaches the layer where the real change in skin quality sits. It works on skin quality, hydration, and skin renewal. It is not meant to replace lost volume or to relax muscles.
Each Rejuran formula is made for a particular concern. Rejuran Healer, sometimes called Rejuran Original, is the main one. It is used for overall skin quality, fine lines, and mild looseness. Rejuran S is the same strength but thicker, so it stays in place within scar tissue. It is made for acne scars that leave small dips and for deeper, uneven texture. Rejuran I, also called Rejuran Eye, is gentler and lighter, made for the delicate skin around the eyes, including under-eye concerns. Which formula is right for you is decided at your consultation, not chosen in advance.
Rejuran is mainly given as an injection into the upper dermis with a very fine needle. The polynucleotides need to reach this deeper layer to work, and a product you simply rub on cannot get there. Separately, we may discuss polynucleotide vials applied with microneedling. The tiny channels made during microneedling let the actives reach the upper layers of the skin. The two methods do different jobs and can sit alongside each other in a plan. Which one is right for you is decided at your consultation.
Rejuran is usually given as a course, not a single session. A first course is most often three to four sessions, three to four weeks apart. The exact number depends on the formula, the concern, and how your skin responds. After that, a top-up of one to two sessions a year is often discussed, depending on your skin. You can usually start to see a change from about two weeks after a session, with the fullest collagen building over three to six months once the course is finished. Individual results vary.
Rejuran is usually well tolerated. The most common short-term effects are small raised bumps at the injection points, which usually settle within one to three days, along with mild redness and the odd bruise. Some people get mild swelling, especially under the eyes, which usually settles within one to two days. Most people get back to normal activities the same day or the next day. Your clinician will talk you through what to expect, how to help your skin recover, and what to avoid in the days right after treatment.
Rejuran is most often discussed for adults who want to improve skin dehydration, dullness, fine lines, mild looseness, acne scars that leave small dips, crepey skin around the eyes, and overall skin quality. It may not suit you during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with an active skin infection (including cold sores), on irritated or inflamed skin, with a known allergy to anything from salmon, with severe dermatitis, with certain autoimmune conditions, after recent acne treatment, or if you take blood thinners that have not been reviewed by your doctor. A history of raised (keloid) scars also needs careful assessment. Whether Rejuran suits you depends on your own situation and is decided at a consultation, not online.
Rejuran is usually well tolerated, but like any injection it carries some risk. The most common effects are short-lived: small raised bumps at the injection points, redness, mild swelling, tenderness, and bruising. These usually settle within a few days, though swelling under the eyes can take a little longer. Less common effects include small lumps under the skin if the product is not evenly spread, pigmentation changes after treatment (more likely with sun exposure or in darker skin), and a flare of cold sores if you are prone to them. Because Rejuran comes from salmon, an allergic reaction is possible, which is why we check for a fish allergy first. Infection at an injection point is uncommon but possible, and as with any injection there is a small risk involving a blood vessel. The exact risks depend on the formula, the area treated, and your own health. We explain them in full at your consultation and again on the day. Individual results vary, and no outcome can be guaranteed. You can read more on our Risks & Complications page.
