Vascular/Pigmentation LaserNewstead, Brisbane
Body Dezign House is a doctor-led clinic in Newstead, Brisbane. We treat redness, visible vessels and sun spots with CoolView, a laser handpiece that carries two wavelengths of light. The 532 nm wavelength works on the surface, and the 1064 nm wavelength reaches deeper. Having both lets us match the light to your skin and your concern.
Choosing the right wavelength for the right concern is the whole point. A vessel near the surface does not behave like a deeper one, and a spot on fair skin does not behave like a spot on deeper skin. CoolView gives us two wavelengths, so the assessment guides the choice, not the other way around.Dr Fatemeh Asadi, MD, FRACGP
Dr Fatemeh Asadi, MD, FRACGP brings two decades in cosmetic medicine and general practice to every consultation. She is a Key Opinion Leader for Merz Aesthetics and an Official Trainer for Aptos Threads. This reflects her ongoing role in cosmetic medicine education, including attending national and international conferences, training other doctors and nurses, and contributing her clinical knowledge to the wider medical aesthetics community.
Our approach to this laser is careful and honest. We look at how deep the concern sits, how widespread it is, how long you have had it, and your skin type. Then we weigh up whether CoolView is truly the right tool, or whether another option or a referral would serve you better.
Commonly
Assessed
CoolView can help with many kinds of redness, visible vessels and pigment. The two wavelengths reach different depths and different targets, so your clinician matches the wavelength, the spot size and the pulse length to your concern. Whether CoolView suits you is something we decide at your consultation.
Facial Redness
& Rosacea Patterns
Spread-out redness, ongoing flushing and the small visible vessels that often come with rosacea sit in the upper layers of the skin. This is where the 532 nm light works, because it is drawn to the red in those vessels. We look at how widespread the redness is, how dense it is, and whether it is purely redness or mixed with other concerns.
Telangiectasia
& Broken Capillaries
These are the fine, visible vessels you can see on the cheeks, around the nose and across the face. How big they are and how deep they sit guide which wavelength we use and how many sessions you may need.
Cherry
Angiomas
Small, raised red spots on the face or body. They often clear in one or two quick, targeted treatments.
Sun-Induced
Pigmented Lesions
Age spots, freckles and sun spots (sometimes called lentigines) that build up from years of sun. The 532 nm light is drawn to the pigment near the surface, so these spots may clear over one to a few sessions, depending on how many there are.
Leg Veins
& Reticular Vessels
Spider veins and the slightly larger vessels just under the skin (called reticular veins) sit deeper than the vessels on the face, so we usually treat them with the 1064 nm light. Larger varicose veins are better handled by a vein specialist, so we would refer you rather than treat them with the laser. Whether the laser suits any leg vein depends on how deep it sits, what type it is, and the health of your veins, which we check on examination.
Suitable Across
Skin Types I–VI
The 1064 nm light is far less drawn to pigment than shorter wavelengths. That widens the range of skin tones we can treat safely, across Fitzpatrick types I to VI (the standard scale from very fair to deep skin). Working out your skin type is part of every assessment we do.
Sessions, Preparation
& Recovery
This laser is given as a course, shaped around what we are treating. Surface redness and pigment often clear in fewer sessions than deeper or denser patterns. The notes below are a general guide. Your clinician will tailor the schedule, the preparation and the recovery advice to your skin type, your medical history, the medicines you take and the area being treated.

Technology should support your skin, not take over. CoolView gives me two wavelengths, and the assessment decides which one to use. My quiet job in the consultation is to read your skin, your vessels and your timing, and to match the treatment to you.Dr Fatemeh Asadi MD, FRACGP · GP & Cosmetic Physician

Other Treatments
We May Discuss
Some skin concerns respond best to one treatment. Others may need a more layered approach, where different treatments are used to support different parts of the concern.
The treatments listed here are examples of what may be considered. They are not a treatment plan and do not mean you will need all of them. Your recommendation may include one option, a combination, or a different approach altogether after your skin has been properly assessed at our Brisbane clinic.
Healite II LED
A gentle light therapy that can calm inflammation and support healing after a treatment. We often pair it with laser sessions to help your skin recover, settle redness and feel more comfortable. Each session is short, and we include it in your plan where it helps.
Chemical Peels
Medical-grade peels can help your skin look clearer and more even alongside a CoolView course, especially when surface pigment and dullness sit next to redness or vessels. We choose the peel type, strength and timing so it works with your laser schedule, not against it.
Signature Facial
A medical-grade facial that looks after your skin barrier and keeps the surface clear between laser sessions. We adapt it to where you are in your CoolView course.
Laser Genesis
A gentle 1064 nm laser that warms the skin in tiny pulses without breaking the surface, to support tone, the look of fine lines and overall glow. It runs on the same laser platform as CoolView, so we often discuss it for clients who want to work on skin quality alongside their redness or pigment.
Skin Boosters
Hydrating treatments that support skin quality, texture and moisture from within. We suggest them for suitable patients as part of a longer-term skin plan, rather than as a stand-alone treatment for redness or pigment.
Clear & Brilliant
A gentle laser that treats the skin in tiny, spaced points to support tone, clarity and a smoother surface. We may add it to work on overall skin quality once your CoolView course is well underway.
Personalised Treatment Plan
After your consultation, we will prepare a personalised treatment plan based on your medical history, assessment, skin condition, and treatment goals. Your plan clearly explains the treatment options that may be appropriate for you, the recommended sequence of care where needed, expected costs, and realistic timeframes. We will also answer your questions and explain the reasons behind our recommendations, so you have a clear understanding of your options before deciding how you would like to proceed.
Personalised Skincare
Following your VISIA skin analysis and clinical assessment, Dr Fatemeh Asadi or one of our experienced clinicians will recommend a personalised skincare plan based on your skin's individual needs. Your skincare routine is selected to support your treatment plan and may be adjusted over time as your skin changes or your goals evolve.
All cosmetic procedures carry some risk and possible side effects. Whether a treatment suits you, what might rule it out, and the full range of possible complications are all discussed at your consultation. Individual results vary. No outcome can be guaranteed. Read about Risks & Complications →

Frequently
Asked
Our laser uses CoolView, a handpiece with two wavelengths of light. It can help with many kinds of redness, visible vessels and pigment. That includes ongoing facial redness, rosacea-related redness, fine visible vessels (telangiectasia), sun spots (lentigines), small red cherry angiomas, and some leg vein patterns. Because it offers two wavelengths (532 nm and 1064 nm), it can be used across Fitzpatrick skin types I to VI when matched carefully. It is not right for everyone. Recent sun, medicines that make your skin more sensitive to light, pregnancy, active skin infections, and some pigment conditions such as melasma all need careful, individual assessment. We decide whether it suits you at a full consultation, not online.
Most people have mild redness and warmth in the treated area for a few hours. With vascular work, the treated vessel may look darker before it clears over the next few days; this is normal. Leg vein and deeper work may leave some bruising for one to two weeks. For most facial sessions, you can get back to normal the same day. Everyone's experience is a little different.
Yes. Try to stay out of the sun for two to four weeks before each session. Pause active skincare such as retinoids or exfoliating acids for a few days; your clinician will tell you exactly when. All self-tanning products must be off the skin. Please tell us about a few things at your consultation: medicines that make your skin more sensitive to light, recent waxing or peels, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or a history of cold sores in the area. That way we can adjust the plan, or move the session if needed.
It feels a little different for each person, each wavelength and each area. Most people describe a quick warm snap with every pulse, eased by the cool sapphire tip, which we can set from 5 to 20 degrees Celsius. The 1064 nm light tends to feel deeper and fuller; the 532 nm feels brighter and quicker. Tell us how you are feeling as we go, and we can adjust the settings over your sessions.
Numbing cream is not always needed, because the built-in sapphire cooling keeps things comfortable. Some people still prefer it, especially for sensitive areas or denser patterns. We talk through what you would like before the session and adjust it over time. If you feel anxious about clinical treatments or do not cope well with discomfort, let us know at your consultation so we can plan around it.
Gentle cleansing, a fragrance-free moisturiser and daily broad-spectrum SPF 50+ are the heart of your recovery through the whole course. Skip hot showers, saunas, steam rooms and hard exercise for 24 to 48 hours. For deeper vessels and leg vein work, we may suggest extra care such as compression. Bring your active skincare back slowly, guided by your clinician. Reviews between sessions help us watch how your skin responds and fine-tune the plan.
All laser treatments carry some risk. These can include redness, short-lived swelling, blistering, changes in skin colour as the area heals, infection, and a result that does not meet your hopes. In some cases, treated vessels darken, small bruise-like spots appear, or there is brief bruising at deeper sites; this can be part of the normal response. The exact risks depend on your skin type and your concern, and we go through them in full at your consultation and again on the day of treatment. You can read more on our Risks & Complications page.
