Laser GenesisNewstead, Brisbane
Body Dezign House is a doctor-led clinic in Newstead, Brisbane. Laser Genesis is a gentle, non-ablative laser treatment that uses an Nd:YAG laser to warm the deeper layer of your skin with quick, light pulses, without breaking the surface. That warmth does two things at once: it encourages your skin to make fresh collagen, and it helps settle the tiny surface vessels that sit behind background redness. Downtime is minimal. At Body Dezign House in Newstead, every Laser Genesis consultation in Brisbane is led by Dr Asadi or her experienced team.
Laser Genesis is one of the few light-based treatments we can offer safely across every skin type. It is not the right tool for every concern. But it is often the right one for skin quality, for gentle redness reduction, and for the kind of work that supports the skin's own biology rather than overriding it.Dr Fatemeh Asadi, MD, FRACGP
Dr Fatemeh Asadi, MD, FRACGP brings two decades in cosmetic medicine and general practice to every consultation. She is a Key Opinion Leader for Merz Aesthetics and an Official Trainer for Aptos Threads. This reflects her ongoing role in cosmetic medicine education, including attending national and international conferences, training other doctors and nurses, and contributing her clinical knowledge to the wider medical aesthetics community.
Our approach to this laser is careful and honest. We look at how deep the concern sits, how widespread it is, how long you have had it, and your skin type.
Commonly
Assessed
Laser Genesis has been studied across a wide range of skin quality concerns. The gentle Nd:YAG energy is chosen because it is safe across every skin type. Whether Laser Genesis in Brisbane is right for your own skin is something we work out together at consultation.
Redness, Rosacea
& Diffuse Erythema
Background facial redness, ongoing flushing, and the redness that comes with rosacea are among the concerns most often assessed for Laser Genesis. The gentle energy is taken up by the red pigment in your blood, which helps settle the tiny surface vessels that feed that redness. Rosacea is a long-term condition we manage rather than cure, so any Laser Genesis course sits within a wider medical and skincare plan we discuss at consultation.
Fine Lines, Wrinkles
& Collagen Activity
By gently warming the deeper layer of your skin, Laser Genesis encourages it to make fresh collagen over the weeks after each session. This can soften the look of fine lines, support firmness, and lift overall skin quality. The results build slowly across the course.
Texture
& Pore Appearance
Helps support the look of skin texture and soften the appearance of larger pores across the course.
Poikiloderma
& Even Skin Tone
Poikiloderma of Civatte is the mix of brown patches and redness often seen on the sides of the neck and the chest. It sits within the range of concerns Laser Genesis can be considered for, as part of a wider plan. The treatment may also help even out your overall skin tone and add a little radiance as fresh collagen builds across the course.
Acne Scar & Surgical Scar
Appearance
Scar tissue holds collagen in a jumbled way. By warming it and encouraging new collagen to form around it, Laser Genesis may help soften the look of some acne and surgical scars over a longer course. Scars are layered, and the response varies with their type, age, and depth. We work out suitability at consultation, where we may also discuss other options such as skin needling, fractional resurfacing, or a combination, if they would serve the result better.
All Skin Types
Non-Ablative, Minimal Downtime
Because the laser is barely drawn to skin pigment, Laser Genesis has been used across every skin type, from very fair to deep. It does not break the surface and has no real downtime, so most people return to their day straight away.
Sessions, Preparation
& Recovery
Laser Genesis is given as a course, shaped around your skin and the concerns you want to address. Because collagen builds slowly over the weeks after each session, the course is set up to work with that pace rather than rush it. What follows is a general guide. Your clinician will tailor the schedule, the lead-up, and the aftercare to your skin type, your medical history, your current medications, and the area being treated.

Other Treatments
We May Discuss
Some skin concerns respond best to one treatment. Others may need a more layered approach, where different treatments are used to support different parts of the concern.
The treatments listed here are examples of what may be considered. They are not a treatment plan and do not mean you will need all of them. Your recommendation may include one option, a combination, or a different approach altogether after your skin has been properly assessed at our Brisbane clinic.
Healite II LED
Gentle, low-level light therapy with documented effects on inflammation and collagen support. We often discuss it alongside Laser Genesis sessions to extend the collagen response and help recovery. Each session is brief and is built into a tailored plan where it suits.
Vascular Laser
Where a surface vessel or a pigment spot needs a more targeted approach than the gentle warming of Laser Genesis, our vascular laser may be considered. Its two wavelengths, 532 nm and 1064 nm, lock more strongly onto colour. This suits individual thread veins, sun spots, or denser vessel work that benefits from that precision.
Lumecca IPL
For sun-induced pigment and broader surface concerns, Lumecca IPL works in a different way. It uses broadband light, filtered at 515 nm or 580 nm, that locks strongly onto surface pigment and the red pigment in blood. We discuss it for fairer skin types where pigment work is part of the wider plan.
Signature Facial
A medical-grade facial delivered by our experienced team under Dr Asadi's supervision, supporting your skin barrier and refining surface clarity between Laser Genesis sessions. We adapt the protocol to where you are in your course, taking care to avoid active products that would clash with the laser schedule.
Chemical Peels
Medical-grade peels can support overall skin clarity and tone alongside a Laser Genesis course. They help most where surface dullness or texture sits beside the redness and quality work the laser addresses. We choose the peel type, depth, and timing to complement the laser schedule rather than clash with it.
Skin Boosters
Hydrating, regenerative skin treatments that support quality, texture, and surface hydration. In suitable patients, we often discuss them as part of a longer-term skin strategy alongside Laser Genesis.
Clear & Brilliant
A gentle fractional laser that supports tone, clarity, and surface refinement. We may add it for extra texture work once a Laser Genesis course is well underway.
Personalised Treatment Plan
After your consultation, we will prepare a personalised treatment plan based on your medical history, assessment, skin condition, and treatment goals. Your plan clearly explains the treatment options that may be appropriate for you, the recommended sequence of care where needed, expected costs, and realistic timeframes. We will also answer your questions and explain the reasons behind our recommendations, so you have a clear understanding of your options before deciding how you would like to proceed.
Personalised Skincare
Following your VISIA skin analysis and clinical assessment, Dr Fatemeh Asadi or one of our experienced clinicians will recommend a personalised skincare plan based on your skin's individual needs. Your skincare routine is selected to support your treatment plan and may be adjusted over time as your skin changes or your goals evolve.
All cosmetic procedures carry potential risks and side effects. Suitability, contraindications, and the full range of potential complications are discussed at your consultation. Individual results vary. No outcome can be guaranteed. Read about Risks & Complications →

Frequently
Asked
Laser Genesis has been studied across a range of skin quality concerns, including background facial redness, the redness of rosacea, fine lines, scars, and overall texture. Because the laser is barely drawn to skin pigment, it has been used across every skin type, from very fair to deep. It is not right for everyone. Active skin infections, recent sun, light-sensitising medications, pregnancy, and certain skin conditions all need careful individual assessment. We work out who it suits at a full consultation, not online.
Laser Genesis does not break the skin's surface. Most people feel mild redness and warmth in the area for a short while afterwards, a little like a brief flush. You can apply makeup straight away and get on with your day. Individual experience varies.
Yes. Try to stay out of the sun for at least two weeks before each session, and have all self-tanning products fully off your skin. Active products such as retinoids or exfoliating acids are usually paused for a few days, and your clinician will give you the exact timing. Please raise any light-sensitising medications, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or a history of cold sores in the area at consultation, so we can adjust the plan or reschedule if needed.
Most people describe Laser Genesis as a gentle, warm feeling as the tip is swept just above the skin, without pressing on it. The laser platform keeps your skin surface comfortable while the deeper layer is gently warmed. Sessions are calm and well tolerated by most people. We welcome your feedback on comfort during the treatment, and we can fine-tune the settings over later sessions.
Numbing cream is not usually needed for Laser Genesis. The treatment is given as gentle pulses with the tip swept above the skin, and the laser platform keeps the surface comfortable throughout. Some people prefer a numbing cream for extra comfort on more sensitive areas. We talk through your preference before the session and adjust it over later treatments.
Gentle cleansing, a fragrance-free moisturiser, and daily broad-spectrum SPF 50+ are the heart of recovery across the course. Hold off on hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and hard exercise for a few hours. Bring back active products such as retinoids and acids under your clinician's guidance, usually within a day or two. Reviews between sessions let us watch how your skin responds and fine-tune the plan.
All laser treatments carry potential risks. These include redness, short-lived swelling, blistering, darkening of the skin after treatment, infection, and a result that does not meet your hopes. Recent sun or a fresh tan raises the risk, so please tell us at booking. Your own risks depend on your skin type and your skin, and we go through them in full at consultation and again on the day of treatment.
