Forma RadiofrequencyNewstead, Brisbane

Forma is a non-invasive radiofrequency treatment for the face and neck. It uses gentle, carefully controlled heat to warm the skin from within and encourage your own collagen to firm and renew. The device checks the temperature as it works, so the warmth stays in a safe, comfortable range. Body Dezign House in Newstead is a doctor-led clinic, and your Forma consultation in Brisbane comes with no obligation to go ahead.

About Dr Asadi
The reason we use Forma is not that radiofrequency itself is novel. It is that the device measures and adjusts the temperature as it goes. The skin's response depends on staying inside a narrow thermal window, and Forma respects that.

Our approach is guided by your anatomy, and we are careful about who Forma suits. We look at how much laxity you have and where, your skin quality, and your medical history, then ask whether Forma is really the right tool for your concern. If a different treatment or a referral would serve you better, we will tell you.

Clinical Indications

Commonly
Assessed

Forma works on the face and neck to support skin quality and the skin's own collagen, with the temperature controlled in real time as it goes. Whether Forma is right for you is something we work out together at a consultation in our Newstead rooms.

What Makes Forma Different

A.C.E. Real-Time
Temperature Control

A.C.E. stands for Acquire, Control, Extend. A sensor in the handpiece reads your skin temperature the whole time, and the device adjusts its own energy to hold the warmth between about 40 and 43 degrees Celsius. This is what sets Forma apart. Many other devices rely on the person treating you to judge the heat by feel. Forma measures it and adjusts as it goes, so the treatment stays even and stays in a safe range.

Face
Forehead, Cheeks & Around the Eyes

Per InMode Australia, Forma is used on the forehead, around the eyes, the cheeks, and the nasolabial folds. The nasolabial folds are the lines that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth. The handpiece is small enough for delicate areas, while still covering larger areas quickly.

Jowls
& Lower Face

The jawline transition and jowl area are among the most commonly assessed regions for skin quality support with Forma.

Neck
Skin Quality & Tissue Remodelling

Forma is used on the upper neck, where skin quality, fine lines, and early laxity tend to show first. The gentle warmth reaches the support layers underneath without breaking the surface, which matters on the thinner skin of the neck.

Collagen Response
& Tissue Remodelling

Every Forma treatment works the same way: gentle, controlled warmth in the dermis and the support layers beneath it. Holding that warmth at around 40 to 43 degrees Celsius encourages your body's own collagen to firm and renew the skin over the weeks and months after your course. Through it all, the surface of your skin stays at a comfortable temperature.

Non-Invasive
Minimal Downtime

Forma does not break the skin surface or require incisions. Most patients return to normal activities the same day.

Clinical Philosophy
The skin only responds to heat inside a narrow range. Too little and nothing happens. Too much and you risk harm. To me, a device that measures the temperature and adjusts as it goes is not a marketing line. It is the part that respects how skin actually works. The quieter part of my job is reading whose skin, whose history, and whose goals truly fit that treatment in the first place.

Options

Combinations

Other Treatments
We May Discuss

At Body Dezign House in Brisbane, Forma sits within a broader strategy for skin quality. Depending on your assessment, we may discuss one or more of the following supportive treatments alongside or in sequence with your Forma course. These are options only. They are not a treatment plan and do not mean you will need all of them. Whether any combination is appropriate for you is determined at a full clinical consultation.

Deeper Tissue & Structural Support

Ultherapy

A non-invasive Micro-Focused Ultrasound with Visualisation system that delivers energy at the deeper supportive layer (SMAS) using a different mechanism to radiofrequency. Where Forma works with bipolar RF in the dermis and upper supportive layers, Ultherapy targets the deeper SMAS for a complementary depth of tissue work. Discussed in suitable patients where both depths are relevant.

Morpheus 8

A fractional radiofrequency microneedling platform that supports skin remodelling at depths complementary to Forma. Where Forma delivers controlled non-invasive bulk heating, Morpheus 8 supports tissue remodelling through fractional radiofrequency reaching a controlled depth beneath the surface. Discussed in suitable patients for layered concerns including skin texture.

Aptos Threads

Absorbable threads delivered by Dr Asadi as an accredited Aptos Official Trainer. Threads add a structural element that Forma alone does not provide and are sometimes considered in combination with Forma. Threads are a medical procedure with their own risk profile, discussed at consultation.

Hydration & Skin Quality

Skin Boosters

Hydrating, regenerative skin treatments that support quality, texture, and surface hydration. Often discussed in suitable patients to complement the collagen response from Forma with surface hydration and quality work.

Light & Healing Support

Healite II LED

Low-level light therapy with documented effects on inflammation and the collagen response. Discussed alongside Forma to support comfort and to support the collagen response over the weeks following each session.

Signature Facial

A medical-grade facial designed to support the skin barrier and refine surface clarity between Forma sessions. The protocol is adapted to where you are in your course, with care to avoid actives that would conflict with the RF schedule.

Personalised Plan & Skincare

Personalised Treatment Plan

No two patients are the same. Following a full consultation, we will prepare a personalised treatment plan based on your medical history, your facial structure, your skin quality, your degree of laxity, and the goals you have shared. It sets out the options most appropriate for you and the sequence in which treatments would be considered, including how Forma may fit alongside any complementary approaches and what would not be genuinely suitable for your individual situation. Specific product names are not discussed online, in line with Australian advertising guidelines.

Personalised Skincare

Following VISIA skin analysis, we recommend a personalised skincare plan based on your skin as it actually presents on assessment, rather than chosen from a standard shelf. Where suitable, certain skincare formulations may be prepared in-clinic specifically for your individual skin. The products you use at home are matched to your presentation and to the timing of your Forma course, and the plan is reviewed and adjusted as your skin's response evolves.

All cosmetic procedures carry potential risks and side effects. Suitability, contraindications, and the full range of potential complications are discussed at your consultation. Individual results vary; no outcome can be guaranteed. Read about Risks & Complications →

Questions

Frequently
Asked

Forma is generally considered for adults with mild to moderate skin laxity on the face and neck, where the supportive collagen and elastin response can be activated through controlled thermal heating. Areas commonly assessed include the forehead, around the eyes, the cheeks and jawline transition, and the upper neck. It is not suitable for everyone; patients with pacemakers, implanted electrical devices, severe skin laxity beyond what non-invasive RF can address, active skin infections, or pregnancy require careful individual assessment or are not candidates. Suitability is determined during a full clinical consultation, not online.

Forma is non-invasive and is delivered with minimal downtime. Most patients return to normal activities immediately after the session, including applying makeup the same day. Mild warmth and slight redness in the treated area are part of the typical response and usually settle within a few hours. Individual experience varies.

Preparation for Forma is straightforward. Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup and skincare on the treatment area. Active topicals such as retinoids or exfoliating acids are usually paused for several days before the session, with exact timing provided by your clinician. Recent skin procedures in the treatment area, pregnancy, breastfeeding, pacemakers or implanted electrical devices, and current medications should be raised at consultation so the plan can be adjusted or treatment rescheduled where appropriate.

Most patients describe Forma as a comfortable, warm sensation similar to a hot stone massage. The handpiece glides across the skin with a coupling gel, and the device automatically maintains the target temperature in the 40 to 43 degree range, adjusting energy in real time. Topical anaesthetic is not required. Comfort feedback during the session is welcomed and the protocol can be refined across subsequent sessions.

No, topical numbing is not required for Forma. The treatment is non-invasive and uses precisely controlled radiofrequency energy delivered as comfortable thermal heating. The automated temperature control system keeps the skin within a defined therapeutic range throughout the session. Sensitivity preferences can still be discussed at consultation.

Aftercare is minimal because Forma does not disrupt the skin surface. Gentle cleansing, fragrance-free moisturisation, and consistent broad-spectrum SPF 50+ form the foundation of recovery. Active topicals such as retinoids and acids may be reintroduced under clinician guidance, generally within a day or two. Reviews between sessions help us monitor your skin's response and refine the plan.

Like all radiofrequency treatments, Forma carries some risks. The common ones are short-lived redness, mild swelling, and warmth or tenderness in the treated area, and there is always a chance the result is not what you hoped for. Less often, risks include a small surface burn if the heat is not controlled properly, a change in skin pigment, or a temporary change in how the skin feels. Which risks matter most depends on your skin type, the area treated, and your medical history. We go through them with you in full at your consultation, and again on the day of treatment. You will find more on our Risks & Complications page.
