Clear & Brilliant

About Dr Asadi
Clear & Brilliant has been called the gentle laser, and that framing is honest. It does not change the surface aggressively. It does not promise dramatic transformation. It supports the skin slowly, across a course, in a way that suits people who do not want disruption.

Our approach to this laser is careful and honest. We look at how deep the concern sits, how widespread it is, how long you have had it, and your skin type. Then we weigh up whether Clear & Brilliant is truly the right tool, or whether another option or a referral would serve you better.

Clinical Indications

Commonly

The two handpieces work on different surface concerns. The 1440 nm Original is mainly used for skin freshening, fine lines, texture, and the look of pores. The 1927 nm Perméa is mainly used for pigment, melasma, and tone. Whether Clear & Brilliant is right for your skin is decided at a consultation in Newstead, Brisbane.

Two-Handpiece Configuration

Two Interchangeable
Handpieces

Our Clear & Brilliant device has two separate handpieces we can swap between. We tend to use the 1440 nm Original for fine lines, surface texture, and the look of pores. We tend to use the 1927 nm Perméa for pigment, tone, and sun damage on the surface. We match the handpiece to your concern at your consultation, and for some people we may use both across a course.

1440 nm Original
Fine Lines & Surface Texture

The Original handpiece reaches a little deeper, just below the surface of the skin. We tend to use it to freshen the skin and soften the look of fine lines and surface texture, on the face and other areas we can treat.

Pore
Appearance

The 1440 nm Original handpiece is often a good choice for people who want their pores to look smaller and less obvious.

1927 nm Perméa
Pigmentation, Melasma & Tone

The Perméa handpiece works closer to the surface, in the very top layer of skin. We tend to use it for pigment (uneven brown marks), melasma, sun spots, and patchy tone. The Perméa setting can also help soften the look of melasma. We decide if it suits you at your consultation.

Fractional Non-Ablative
Skin Resurfacing

Both handpieces work the same gentle way. The laser makes tiny treatment points across the skin while leaving the skin around them untouched. That untouched skin helps the treated points heal quickly, and your skin builds new collagen (the protein that keeps it firm) and fresh surface cells in the weeks after. A built-in tracking system keeps the energy even across the whole area.

Suitable Across
Many Skin Types

Clear & Brilliant suits a wide range of skin types. We always check your skin type and history with you first, to make sure it is right for you.

Treatment Journey

Sessions, Preparation
& Recovery

Clear & Brilliant is given as a course at our Brisbane clinic, shaped around your concern, the handpiece we use, and how your skin responds. What follows is a general guide. At our Newstead clinic, we tailor the schedule, the lead-up, and the aftercare to your skin, your medical history, and the area we are treating.

Clinical Philosophy
Not every skin needs a strong treatment. Some skin just needs a slow, quiet correction over time. Clear & Brilliant suits people who want to support their skin's own renewal, rather than change it in one go. Working out whose skin, and whose timing, fits that gentle path is the quiet part of the consultation, and it is the part I care about most.

Other Treatments
We May Discuss

Some skin concerns respond best to one treatment. Others may need a more layered approach, where different treatments are used to support different parts of the concern.

The treatments listed here are examples of what may be considered. They are not a treatment plan and do not mean you will need all of them. Your recommendation may include one option, a combination, or a different approach altogether after your skin has been properly assessed at our Brisbane clinic.

Light & Healing Support

Healite II LED

A gentle red light therapy that helps calm the skin and support healing. We often use it straight after a Clear & Brilliant session to ease redness and help your skin settle over the next few days.

Surface Renewal

Chemical Peels

Medical-grade peels can help with overall clarity and tone alongside a Clear & Brilliant course, especially when surface pigment and dullness sit next to texture concerns. We choose the type, strength, and timing so the peel works with your laser schedule, not against it.

Signature Facial

A medical-grade facial that supports your skin barrier and helps keep the surface clear between Clear & Brilliant sessions. We adapt it to where you are in your course, and we are careful to avoid anything that would clash with your healing window.

Skin Quality & Hydration

Skin Boosters

Hydrating, skin-renewing treatments that support quality, texture, and moisture deeper in the skin. We often discuss these for suitable people, to pair the surface work from Clear & Brilliant with deeper hydration. We match the timing to your laser schedule, and usually keep them outside the immediate healing window.

Lumecca IPL

A light-based treatment (IPL, or intense pulsed light) used for tone, surface pigment, and small visible vessels in the skin. We sometimes use it alongside Clear & Brilliant when your surface concerns sit across a few different areas, spacing the treatments apart rather than doing them in the one session.

Personalised Plan & Skincare

Personalised Treatment Plan

After your consultation, we will prepare a personalised treatment plan based on your medical history, assessment, skin condition, and treatment goals. Your plan clearly explains the treatment options that may be appropriate for you, the recommended sequence of care where needed, expected costs, and realistic timeframes. We will also answer your questions and explain the reasons behind our recommendations, so you have a clear understanding of your options before deciding how you would like to proceed.

Personalised Skincare

Following your VISIA skin analysis and clinical assessment, Dr Fatemeh Asadi or one of our experienced clinicians will recommend a personalised skincare plan based on your skin's individual needs. Your skincare routine is selected to support your treatment plan and may be adjusted over time as your skin changes or your goals evolve.

All cosmetic procedures carry some risk and possible side effects. Whether a treatment suits you, what might rule it out, and the full range of possible complications are all talked through at your consultation. Individual results vary. No outcome can be guaranteed. Questions

Frequently
Asked

Clear & Brilliant suits most adults who want gentle, gradual improvement in their skin. People come to us for fine lines, surface texture, the look of their pores, or uneven tone and pigment. The Original 1440 nm handpiece is more often used for fine lines, texture, and pores. The Perméa 1927 nm handpiece is more often used for pigment, melasma (patchy brown areas on the skin), and sun-related marks. It is not right for everyone. If you have an active skin infection, are taking isotretinoin, scar easily, have had recent sun, or are pregnant, it may not suit you. We decide whether it is right for you at a full consultation, not online.

There is very little downtime. For the first few hours your skin may look pink, a bit like mild sunburn. After that the surface can feel slightly rough, like fine sandpaper, with a light bronzing. This usually settles within one to three days. Most people can wear makeup the next day. How you respond depends on the handpiece used, the energy setting, and the area treated.

Getting ready is simple. Come with clean skin, with no makeup or skincare on the area we are treating. Try to stay out of the sun for two to four weeks before each session, and make sure any fake tan is completely off. Strong skincare such as retinoids or exfoliating acids is usually paused for a few days beforehand, and we will tell you exactly when. Please let us know about recent skin treatments, isotretinoin, pregnancy, breastfeeding, any medicines you take, and any history of cold sores in the area. We talk all of this through at your consultation.

Most people describe a warm, prickling feeling as the handpiece is rolled over the skin. We apply numbing cream first to keep you comfortable. The Perméa 1927 nm handpiece tends to feel a little warmer than the Original 1440 nm. Each session usually takes 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the area and the handpiece. Tell us how you are feeling as we go, we want you comfortable throughout.

Yes. We apply numbing cream as part of the standard process, usually about 30 to 45 minutes before we start. It is there to keep you comfortable. If you have any concerns about sensitivity, we can talk them through at your consultation.

Aftercare is about looking after your skin gently while the surface settles. Wash with a gentle, non-foaming cleanser, keep the skin moisturised with a fragrance-free product, and wear a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ every day. Pause strong actives like retinoids and acids for a few days. Skip hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and hard exercise for the first 24 to 48 hours. We review your skin between sessions, so we can see how it is responding and fine-tune the plan as we go.

All fractional non-ablative laser treatments carry some risk. The more common effects include redness, short-lived swelling, changes in pigment after treatment, infection, and a result that does not meet your hopes. Less common risks include scarring, redness that lingers, temporary changes in skin sensation, and cold sores flaring up in people who are prone to them. Your own risks depend on your skin type, the handpiece used, the area treated, and your health history. We go through all of this in full at your consultation, and again on the day.
