Aptos thread lift at Body Dezign House in Newstead, Brisbane
Soft Tissue Lifting & Support

Aptos Thread LiftNewstead, Brisbane

An Aptos thread lift is a minimally invasive way to lift and resettle the soft tissue of the lower face, jawline, cheeks, and neck. The threads are fine, absorbable surgical sutures. Small barbs along each thread gently take hold of the tissue and hold it in a planned direction. Over the months that follow, your body builds a soft framework of collagen, the protein that gives skin its firmness, around them. So the lift is a careful resettling of what your face still has the support to hold, not a refilling of what has been lost. Body Dezign House is a doctor-led clinic in Newstead, Brisbane, and every Aptos consultation here is guided by your anatomy and unhurried. Dr Fatemeh Asadi is an accredited Aptos Threads Official Trainer and teaches the technique to other doctors across Brisbane.

Understanding the Aptos Thread Lift

Aptos Thread Lift
in Brisbane

About Dr Asadi
A thread lift resettles what your face still has the support to hold. It is not a refilling, and it is not a re-making. My honest job at the start is to look at your anatomy and tell you whether threads will do what you are hoping for. Sometimes the answer is something else, including a surgical opinion. Threads done well on the right face look like a quiet, thoughtful adjustment. Threads placed on the wrong anatomy look exactly like threads.

Aptos thread lift consultation at Body Dezign House in Newstead, Brisbane

Our approach is careful and honest. We look at what is really driving your concern. It might be loss of support in the deeper tissue, descent of the cheek or jawline, looser skin, or a mix of these. We also look at whether any treatment is genuinely right for you.

Aptos Indications

Areas of the Face
Most Commonly Assessed

Dr Asadi places every Aptos thread personally. As an accredited Aptos Threads Official Trainer, she also teaches the technique to other doctors across Brisbane. Aptos threads do a small number of things very well. The areas below are the ones we most commonly assess at consultation. Whether threads are the right approach for you depends on your anatomy, your medical history, and your goals. That is something only an in-person assessment can decide.

Most Commonly Assessed

Lower Face
& Jawline Contour

This is the area we assess most often. A softening jawline and early jowls along the lower jaw are what bring most people in. We place longer threads to lift and resettle the lower-face tissue, then hold it in a planned direction while collagen forms around the threads. The result is a firmer, better-defined jawline, not a refilling. It suits people whose support underneath is still strong enough to hold the new position. It is not the right tool for very loose or heavy tissue, which is honestly a surgical conversation.

Midface
Soft Tissue Support

Lifting the cheek and midface tissue, where sagging has flattened the top of the cheek or deepened the smile lines (the nasolabial folds that run from the nose to the corners of the mouth). We place threads along carefully chosen directions to lift the cheek tissue back toward where it used to sit. We only suggest this when the anatomy will respond and the bone support underneath is still good. It is often paired with a separate skin treatment, so the surface keeps up with the new position.

Brow
Position

A gentle lift to the tail of the brow, for people with a slight droop at the outer end. We use small, carefully placed threads here, and we are always honest about how much movement is realistic.

Neck
& Submental

Support for the upper neck and the area under the chin (the submental area), for people with mild to moderate looseness, where the skin still has enough stretch to respond. We place threads to tighten the angle between the jaw and the neck. Heavy tissue under the chin, strong cords in the neck (called platysmal bands), or very loose neck skin are usually a separate conversation, and often a surgical one.

Combinations
& Wider Plan

Aptos rarely sits alone. The result is usually stronger, and the lift holds longer, when the groundwork is done first. We often schedule Ultherapy, Morpheus 8, or Rejuran four to eight weeks before the thread session, so the skin is firmer and more responsive by the time the threads go in. We add Healite II LED in the early days afterwards to support healing. If lost fullness is also part of the picture, there may be a separate in-clinic option to discuss, considered across separate appointments. Whether it suits you, and the order of each step, is mapped out at your consultation.

When Aptos
Is Not Right

Very loose or very heavy tissue, an active skin infection in the area, certain autoimmune conditions, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and a history of raised, thickened (keloid) scarring. In each case the right answer is a proper assessment first, and sometimes a surgical opinion, not threads.

Clinical Philosophy
Not every face that sags needs surgery, and not every face is suited to threads. My role is to assess the quality of the tissues, understand your goals, and provide honest advice about whether an Aptos Thread Lift is the right option for you.

Your Consultation
in Brisbane

Your consultation at our Brisbane clinic starts with a conversation about your concerns and what you would like to achieve. We review your medical history, carefully assess the lower face, jawline, and neck, and use VISIA skin analysis where appropriate to gain a better understanding of your skin's condition. We then explain our findings, discuss the treatment options that may be suitable for you, and answer your questions so you have a clear understanding of the benefits, possible risks, and alternatives before deciding whether to proceed. Treatments We
May Discuss

The treatments listed here are examples of what may be considered. They are not a treatment plan and do not mean you will need all of them. Your recommendation may include one option, a combination, or a different approach altogether after your skin has been properly assessed at our Brisbane clinic.

Aptos Thread Procedures

Aptos Lower Face & Jawline Thread Lift

The Aptos procedure we perform most often. We place threads along carefully chosen directions to lift the lower-face tissue and redefine the jawline. We numb the area first with local anaesthetic at the entry points and along the thread paths. The session itself runs for about 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the number of threads. Most people return to their day within 24 to 48 hours, with some swelling and tenderness for a few days. The lift usually lasts around 18 to 24 months, sometimes longer. Every thread treatment at Body Dezign House is carried out by Dr Asadi personally.

Aptos Midface & Cheek Repositioning

We place threads to lift the cheek tissue back toward where it used to sit, softening the smile lines (the nasolabial folds) and supporting the top of the cheek. We only suggest this when the bone support and the skin underneath will respond. The session length and recovery are similar to the lower-face procedure. It is often paired with a skin treatment, so the surface keeps pace with the new position.

Aptos Neck & Submental Threads

For people with mild to moderate looseness in the neck and under the chin, where the skin still has enough stretch to respond, we place threads along the angle between the jaw and the neck to support and refine the line. The session length and recovery are similar to the lower-face procedure, and the result builds gradually over the following months as collagen forms around the threads. Threads are not always the right tool: heavy tissue under the chin, strong cords in the neck (platysmal bands), or very loose neck skin are usually better suited to a surgical conversation. Whether threads will help your neck, or whether another approach would serve you better, is something we assess and discuss together at your consultation.

Aptos Brow Position Threads

A gentle lift to the tail of the brow, for people with a slight droop at the outer end. We use small, carefully placed threads, and we talk honestly about how much movement is realistic. Sometimes this is planned alongside other in-clinic treatments, which we discuss together at your consultation.

Combinations with Other Treatments

Aptos After Ultherapy (Sequenced)

Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to deliver gentle heat at set depths beneath the skin. This supports collagen in the support layer beneath the skin (the SMAS, a sheet of muscle and connective tissue) and in the deeper skin above it. When threads are part of the plan, we usually do the Ultherapy session first. We wait four to eight weeks for that work to settle and the early collagen response to come through. Then we place the Aptos threads into tissue that is already firmer and more supportive. People whose looseness is deep enough to benefit from both usually see a stronger result from the sequence than from either alone.

Aptos After Morpheus 8 (Sequenced)

Morpheus 8 combines fractional radiofrequency with microneedling to remodel the skin from deeper down. When both treatments are part of the plan, we usually do the Morpheus 8 session first. We wait four to eight weeks for any swelling to settle and the early collagen response to show. Then we place the Aptos threads into a base that is already firmer at depth. This helps where the picture calls for work on depth and texture alongside the lift.

Aptos After Rejuran (Sequenced)

Rejuran is a skin treatment placed just beneath the surface to support skin quality, stretch, and hydration. When threads are part of the plan, we usually start a Rejuran course first. We wait four to eight weeks after those sessions for the skin quality and elasticity to lift. Then we place the Aptos threads into skin that is healthier and more responsive. Many people continue Rejuran as a longer-term way to look after skin quality once the threads are in.

Aptos + Healite II LED (Recovery Support)

Gentle LED light therapy that helps healing and calms swelling. We often offer it in the early days after a thread session, as part of recovery, where it suits you. The light is gentle, warmth-free, and comfortable, and it can shorten the visible recovery time.

When Specialist Care Is Needed

When Surgical Care Is the Right Answer

For people whose looseness has gone beyond what threads can hold, or where the tissue is very loose or heavy, a surgical face lift by a plastic surgeon is the honest answer.

All cosmetic procedures carry some risk and possible side effects. With Aptos, the thread type, the lift directions, the number of threads, and any combinations are decided at your consultation. Whether a treatment suits you, what might rule it out, and the full range of possible complications are all discussed at your consultation. Individual results vary, and no outcome can be guaranteed. Questions

Frequently
Asked

Aptos threads are fine, absorbable surgical sutures, first developed by Dr Marlen Sulamanidze in 1996 and now registered with the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration. They are made from a blend of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and polycaprolactone (PCL), with tiny barbs along their length. These barbs let the doctor gently take hold of the deeper tissue and resettle it in a planned direction. The lift usually lasts around 18 to 24 months, sometimes longer. Aptos resettles what is already there, rather than refilling what has been lost. The newer 4th-generation threads also carry a built-in NAMICA technology that helps support skin quality alongside the lift.

Aptos suits adults with mild to moderate looseness of the soft tissue in the lower face, jawline, or neck, whose anatomy still has enough support underneath for a thread lift to make sense. Some people are usually directed elsewhere, sometimes toward a surgical opinion. That includes very loose or heavy tissue, an active skin infection in the area, certain autoimmune conditions, current pregnancy or breastfeeding, or hopes that threads cannot realistically meet. Whether Aptos suits you is something we decide together at a one-on-one consultation. Individual results vary.

We place local anaesthetic at the entry points and along the planned thread paths, so the placement itself is comfortable for most people. Most describe a feeling of pressure or tugging rather than sharp pain. The session itself runs for about 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the number of threads and the areas being treated. Every thread treatment at Body Dezign House is carried out personally by Dr Fatemeh Asadi, an accredited Aptos Threads Official Trainer.

Most people return to their day within 24 to 48 hours. Some swelling, a little bruising at the entry points, and tenderness over the treated areas is part of the normal response and usually settles over a few days. Mild dimpling or puckering along the thread lines can show in the first week or two, and it generally evens out as the tissue settles. For the first week, we usually suggest sleeping on your back with your head slightly raised. For two to four weeks, avoid hard exercise, dental work, facial massage, saunas, and anything that pulls on the skin. We give you your own aftercare instructions on the day.

Most people see the lift for around 18 to 24 months, sometimes longer. It depends on the thread type used, the area treated, your age, your skin quality, and your lifestyle. We usually talk through any top-up or maintenance sessions at your review. Individual results vary.

An Aptos thread lift is minimally invasive. It is best understood as resettling what your face still has the support to hold, with a short recovery and a result that lasts around 18 to 24 months. A surgical face lift removes excess skin and does deeper structural work, performed by a plastic surgeon, with a longer recovery and a longer-lasting result.

All cosmetic procedures carry some risk, including bruising, swelling, unevenness, infection, problems involving blood vessels, and a result you are not happy with. The specific risks depend on the treatment, and we explain them in full at your consultation and again on the day. Full information is on our Risks & Complications page.
